My name is Stevely, I joined my family at Coxwell Hall in 2019.
Before coming here I worked for P&O as a Cabin Steward for 25 years, it was a role that helped me to see the world and meet a lot of people. There is a high percentage of older people taking cruises and I realised that I had a lot of compassion for them. I knew I had learnt a lot from these people so when I decided to make a change it seemed like a good thing for to move into a career in care.
Coxwell really is my home, (although I have my own place) I love being here, the staff and residents are my family (as well as my mum and wife). I get on with everyone, in fact I am 100% attached to the place. We help each other – even with shopping!
Care is a family thing – my brother also works at Coxwell and my daughter is going into child care. When I’m not at work, I spend time talking with my mum in Goa, and my wife or listen to music, I also like to relax with a movie.
