Claire Morbey

Activities Coordinator

I came to the UK in 2007 from the Philippines and was introduced to Coxwell Hall in 2012 when I was here for 4 years as a Senior Care Assistant. I have been the Activities Coordinator since 2021.

Coxwell is my special place, my role as Activities Coordinator is very important to me, I love making people happy. I am a good organiser and spend a lot of time researching ideas and planning activities, we have a lot of talented people here so I also schedule our activities around their rotas to make sure there is lots going on that’s different day to day.

I also find lots of exciting things to happen as special events every month by keeping tabs on what’s going on in the community and with specialist activities designed for our residents, like the Dinky Therapy Ponies, music and Zoo Lab. I have to admit I am always thinking of the next thing, I do a lot of prep on Sundays so I know the week will run well, I like to be prepared.

Our Coxwell family is very special, from our residents to their families, we all get very close. There are some talented bakers with family here so we often get spoiled with lovely cakes.

Family time is also important, my daughter is a graphic designer and my son is still at school and into sports – he loves cricket and football. My special place is the mythical island of Siquijor, its known for its myths and legends but to me it’s the most beautiful place with very special beaches. Finally if you asked me what I love to eat it’s a fruit called Durian – my special treat, but known to be very smelly!
